Absolutely. You can adapt any recipe — your own or a public recipe shared by another user — for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or high-protein diets, kid-friendly steps, and much more. When you modify a public recipe, Tatin automatically creates your own custom version, linked back to the original. Always double-check allergens and ingredient labels yourself — see our Terms of Service for our food safety disclaimer.

You own the recipes you create yourself. For recipes you import from another source, the original content isn't yours to claim — before sharing an imported recipe publicly, you must meaningfully modify both the content and the photo to create your own version. You're responsible for making sure you have the right to share what you post. Full details are in our Terms of Service.

Legal
Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 11, 2026
Tatin ("we," "our," or "us") helps you create, transform, organize, and share recipes. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
Account information: your name, email address, profile handle, and profile photo.
Recipes and content: recipes you create, import, or transform; photos you upload or capture; voice notes you record to describe a recipe; text notes; and links you provide.
Collections and saves: the recipes and collections you save or bookmark.
Social activity: the cooks you follow, ratings and comments you leave, and culinary events you create or join with others.
Communications: messages you send us for support, feedback, or bug reports.
Information collected automatically:
Device and app information (device model, operating system, app version, and identifiers used to keep your account and cookbook in sync).
Basic usage and diagnostic information that helps us understand app performance, fix bugs, and keep the service reliable and secure.
Permissions you control:
Camera and photo library: used only when you choose to take or upload a photo, for example to create a recipe from a picture of a dish.
Microphone: used only when you tap to record a voice note describing a recipe. We process the recording to turn it into recipe text and do not keep the raw audio file once that's done.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
create and sync your account and cookbook across your devices;
generate and transform recipes from the photos, text, links, and voice notes you provide;
let you organize, search, save, and share recipes;
power social features like following, ratings, and culinary events;
maintain, secure, and improve the app, including diagnosing and fixing bugs;
When you create or transform a recipe from a photo, voice note, text, or link, that content is processed — including by third-party technology providers — in order to produce the resulting recipe. We do not permit these providers to use your content to train their own general-purpose models for other customers or users.
3. Public and Private Content
Recipes are private by default. Only recipes and profile information you intentionally choose to make public — for example, by publishing a recipe or sharing an event — are visible to other users or the wider Tatin community.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
Service providers. We use trusted providers for cloud hosting and databases, authentication (including "Sign in with Google"), advertising, app store payment processing, and the recipe-processing technology described above. Each provider only receives the information it needs to perform its service for us.
Other users. Content you make public and your profile information (username, name, profile picture, etc.), are visible to other Tatin users as part of using the app.
Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, to investigate a report or violation of our Terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Tatin, our users, or others.
Business transfers. If Tatin is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
5. Advertising
Tatin is 100% free to use, with every feature available to every user. The app is supported by advertising rather than subscriptions or in-app purchases. Ads may be personalized based on how you use the app. Ad partners only receive the information needed to serve and measure ads — we do not sell your personal information.
6. Data Retention
We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is active, so your cookbook stays available to you. If you delete your account, your public content is removed from view promptly, and your data is permanently deleted from our active systems and backups within 30 days, except where we're required to keep certain information longer for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You can, at any time:
access and update your account information from Profile → Settings;
control who sees your recipes by keeping them private or choosing to share them;
request a copy of your personal data by contacting us; and
delete your account and associated data (Profile → Settings → Delete account).
8. Children's Privacy
Tatin is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
9. Data Security
We take data security seriously. Tatin is built on industry-standard, widely trusted infrastructure for authentication, data storage, and hosting, and your data is encrypted in transit. Access to your information is restricted to what's needed to operate the app, and we apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect it against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No system is completely immune to risk, but security is a continuous priority, not an afterthought.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
Welcome to Tatin. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Tatin mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using Tatin, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and our Community Guidelines (together, the "Terms"), as well as all laws and regulations that apply to your use of the Service. You are responsible for complying with any applicable local laws. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use Tatin.
1. Who Can Use Tatin
You must be at least 13 years old to use Tatin. If you are under 18, you should use Tatin with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian where required by applicable law. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for activity that occurs through your account. Please contact us if you believe someone has gained unauthorized access to it. You may not use Tatin if applicable law prohibits you from doing so.
2. What Tatin Provides
Tatin is a cooking and recipe platform that allows users to create, import, organize, adapt, discover, and share recipes and culinary content. Depending on the features available to you, Tatin may allow you to:
create recipes from ideas, ingredients, photos, notes, and other inputs;
import recipes from websites or social platforms;
adapt recipes to different preferences or cooking needs;
organize recipes into collections;
share recipes with other users;
follow cooks and discover recipes; and
create or participate in culinary events.
Features may change, be added, or be removed as Tatin evolves.
3. Your Content
You keep any rights you have in the recipes, photos, comments, profile information, collections, and other content you create and upload to Tatin ("Your Content"). Tatin does not take ownership of Your Content.
When you make Your Content public or share it with other users through Tatin, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute that content as reasonably necessary to operate and provide the Service. This includes, for example, displaying a public recipe in search results, feeds, profiles, collections, or other parts of Tatin. This license does not give us ownership of Your Content.
You may delete Your Content or your account subject to the retention practices described in our Privacy Policy. Some limited copies may remain temporarily in backups, logs, or where required for legal or security purposes. Content that another user has independently saved, adapted, or incorporated into their own content may not necessarily disappear from that user's account when you delete your original version.
4. Recipes and Content Imported From Other Sources
Tatin may allow you to save or import recipe information from websites, social platforms, screenshots, photographs, or other sources. Importing something into your private cookbook does not transfer ownership of the original content to you or to Tatin. Third-party photographs, written descriptions, stories, videos, branding, and other creative material may be protected by intellectual property laws even where basic recipe information itself is not.
If you choose to publish or share imported material through Tatin, please make sure you have the rights needed to share that material. Recipes imported from another source must be meaningfully modified — including both the written content and any photos — before you share them publicly on Tatin, so that what you publish is your own version rather than a copy of the original. You are solely responsible for complying with this requirement and for any consequences of sharing imported content that has not been sufficiently modified or that you do not have the right to share.
Where appropriate, Tatin may preserve or display information about the original source of an imported recipe. Tatin does not claim ownership over third-party content and may remove or restrict access to content when we receive a valid rights complaint.
5. Sharing Responsibly
Tatin is designed to be a welcoming place for people who enjoy cooking. When you post content publicly or interact with others, please respect other users and their rights. Content or behavior that may not be permitted includes material that is unlawful, seriously harmful, threatening, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, fraudulent, intentionally deceptive, or that infringes another person's intellectual property or privacy rights. You also may not use Tatin to distribute spam, malicious software, or interfere with the operation or security of the Service. More detailed rules are provided in our Community Guidelines.
6. Reporting Content and Accounts
If you see content or behavior that you believe violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines, you can report it through available in-app reporting tools or contact us at tatin-recipes@gmail.com. Please include enough information for us to understand and locate the issue. We may review reports and take appropriate action, which can include removing content, limiting access to features, issuing warnings, or suspending accounts. We try to make these decisions reasonably and proportionately based on the circumstances.
7. Copyright and Intellectual Property Concerns
We respect intellectual property rights and expect Tatin users to do the same. If you believe content available through Tatin uses your copyrighted material without authorization, please contact us at tatin-recipes@gmail.com. Please provide enough information for us to identify both your work and the content you are concerned about, together with your contact information and an explanation of why you believe the use is unauthorized. We may ask for additional information when necessary to evaluate a request.
When appropriate, we may remove or disable access to disputed content while the matter is reviewed. Users who repeatedly infringe intellectual property rights may have their accounts restricted or terminated.
8. Recipe Accuracy, Food Safety, and Dietary Information
Cooking always requires judgment. Recipes available through Tatin may come from users, imported sources, or recipe creation and transformation features. Although we aim to provide useful cooking information, recipes may sometimes contain mistakes or may not be appropriate for every person or situation. Before preparing or consuming a recipe, please review the ingredients, quantities, preparation steps, cooking times, temperatures, and other relevant information.
If you have food allergies, intolerances, medical conditions, or specific dietary requirements, carefully verify ingredients and product labels yourself. Features that adapt recipes for preferences such as vegan, gluten-free, lower-sugar, high-protein, kid-friendly, or other needs are intended as cooking tools and are not medical or nutritional advice. For medical or dietary concerns, consult an appropriate qualified professional.
9. Your Responsibility When Cooking
You remain responsible for deciding whether a recipe is suitable for you and for using appropriate food-handling and kitchen-safety practices. This includes matters such as safe cooking temperatures, food storage, allergen exposure, cross-contamination, and safe use of kitchen equipment. Nothing in Tatin should replace reasonable cooking judgment or professional advice where appropriate.
10. Availability of the Service
We work to keep Tatin available and functioning well, but we cannot promise that every feature will always be available or error-free. From time to time, we may need to update, change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service for maintenance, security, product development, technical reasons, or other legitimate purposes. We may also introduce new features or change existing ones.
11. Your Responsibility for What You Share
You are responsible for the content you choose to upload, publish, or share through Tatin and for your use of the Service. If your deliberate or unlawful use of Tatin causes a third-party claim against us — for example, because you knowingly publish material you do not have the right to share — you may be responsible for the reasonable losses or costs resulting from that conduct to the extent permitted by applicable law. We will not seek to hold you responsible for claims caused solely by Tatin's own actions.
12. Advertising
Tatin is 100% free to use — every feature is available to every user, with no subscriptions or paid tiers. The Service is supported by advertising rather than by user payments. We may update how ads are served as the Service evolves, but we do not currently offer, and do not plan to require, any paid subscription to access Tatin's features.
13. Account Deletion
You may delete your Tatin account through the account settings available in the app. Information associated with deleted accounts is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, including any limited retention necessary for backups, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal obligations.
14. Suspension or Termination
Most users will never need to think about this section. However, we may restrict or suspend access to Tatin when reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, maintain the security or integrity of the Service, or address serious or repeated violations of these Terms or our Community Guidelines. Where appropriate, we may first provide a warning or limit specific features rather than closing an account. We may terminate accounts in cases of serious abuse, repeated violations, fraud, unlawful activity, or significant risk to Tatin or its users. You may stop using Tatin and delete your account at any time.
15. Third-Party Services and Links
Tatin may contain links to or interact with websites, social platforms, app stores, or other third-party services. Those services are operated independently from Tatin and may have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for the operation or content of third-party services.
16. Changes to Tatin or These Terms
Tatin will continue to evolve. We may update these Terms when necessary to reflect new features, changes in law, security requirements, or changes to the way the Service operates. If a change is material, we will update the date at the top of these Terms and provide additional notice where reasonably appropriate or legally required. Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms take effect means the new Terms will apply to your future use of Tatin, subject to any rights you have under applicable law.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
If you live in a country or region that gives you mandatory consumer rights under local law, nothing in these Terms limits those rights.
18. General Terms
If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply. Our failure to enforce a provision immediately does not waive our right to enforce it later. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, form the agreement between you and Tatin concerning your use of the Service.
Tatin is a place to create, collect, adapt, and share recipes with people who love food.
We want the community to remain welcoming, useful, and respectful. These guidelines explain what we expect when you share content or interact with others, and what you can do if something doesn't seem right. They work alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
Community Guidelines
Most of this comes down to a few simple principles: share responsibly, respect other people and their work, and help keep Tatin a positive place to cook and discover.
When posting or interacting on Tatin, please don't:
post content that violates someone else's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights;
post illegal content or use Tatin for unlawful purposes;
post sexually explicit or pornographic content;
threaten, harass, bully, or impersonate others;
deliberately promote seriously dangerous behavior or present unsafe or non-edible substances as safe to eat;
spam users or post deceptive or fraudulent content; or
interfere with the security or normal operation of Tatin.
If content or behavior doesn't follow these guidelines, we may take appropriate action. Depending on the situation, that could mean removing content, limiting certain features, issuing a warning, or suspending an account. Our goal is to respond reasonably and proportionately to the situation.
Reporting Something
If you see a recipe, comment, profile, or other content that you think doesn't belong on Tatin, please report it using the in-app reporting option in your settings or contact us at tatin-recipes@gmail.com.
Include enough information for us to find and understand the issue. We'll review the report and take appropriate action when needed.
Recipes & Copyright
Recipes can come from many places, and Tatin makes it easy to bring them together in your cookbook.
Content you create yourself remains yours. When importing content from websites, social platforms, books, or other sources, please respect the rights of the original creators — particularly for photos, videos, written content, and other original material.
If you believe your copyrighted work is being shared on Tatin without permission, contact tatin-recipes@gmail.com with a description of your work and the content concerned. We'll review your request and may remove or restrict the content when appropriate.
For more information about content ownership and copyright complaints, please see our Terms of Service.
Food & Dietary Safety
Tatin helps you create and adapt recipes, but recipes may not be suitable for every person or situation.
Always check ingredients, allergens, product labels, cooking temperatures, and dietary requirements yourself. Recipe adaptations are cooking suggestions and aren't medical or nutritional advice.
